We Need Your Views?
At the last meeting of Tilston Parish Council a number of questions came up which we would like the opinion of residents on – so now is the chance to have your say!
THE RED PHONE
BOX DEBATE
Over the past few months there has been much debate about whether BT should remove the red phone box by the Telephone Exchange on Malpas Road. There is a strong feeling that the phone box is untidy and is often subject to vandalism and detracts from the area. Others see the K2 phone box designed by Giles Gilbert Scott as an icon which should be retained. So what do you think?
THE ROOKERY ROAD GARAGE SITE
For sometime the Parish Council has
been trying to get the Rookery Road Garage site tidied up and put to some
constructive use and residents neighbouring the site will receive a
questionnaire about it’s future from us very soon.
We have an opportunity with the help of Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) to turn the site into parking spaces which we could rent out to residents. This would not affect those who have authorized access to the rear of their properties.
CDHT would
carryout all the necessary work the cost of which would be covered by a 15 year
lease which the parish council would pay from the rental of the spaces, after
this period the site would be owned by the Parish Council.
Is this something you think the council should be looking at or do you have a
better suggestion?
THE TILSTON DIRECTORY
The Parish Council is working to create a ‘Directory’ for Tilston which will include businesses and groups in and around Tilston. This will be on the parish council’s website and also be available as a paper copy.
Are you part of a group or business which should be included if so please contact the clerk at the below address?
